There is also a 5ghz Ivy thread 32M on XS
not going to link to it though, but its not hard to find.

I will be sure to get some fairly well tuned 5ghz runs for you soon, I don't have a rampot and I certainly wont be running 2600 C7 or anything like that. But I will get the ball rolling at 2400C10

Sorry if I am coming across a little impatient, but I actually have a planned bench session with this board in about 12 hours.
I would really like to have the dram profiles working properly before going cold on this board, so I can properly test the limits of my memory.
Without the ability to correctly load up a loose timings profile, I could be in serious trouble when it comes to it.
going to completely whipe the CMOS on the board and see if that helps, then move over to the second BIOS and move back to the updated one. I can't find any other traces of this issue with my fairly limited google-fu... I'm hoping you guys can help me out.
I feel like a dick, updated to version 1.42 (from the thread) and the SPD info is there. The version of timing config from the ASRock site (assumed it was the most up to date) was version 1.0.5, from the thread I found version 1.0.9.. which allowed me to find memory profiles in OS as well. I guess I was stupid to assume that version 1.40 was more up to date then version 1.15 (the version nick describes as including the SPD info).
On a slightly different note, now that things are working, I will be starting to bench with this board in about 12 hours. Would you guys like me to keep you up to date with where things end up going. Only using DICE this time, but it should still be quite the ride.
OK, i'm a bencher also, hopefully your ram sticks last longer then 2 weeks thumb.gif

I have to explain here . I can add anything which i want into "beta" bios easily .

But the official bios need to do severe test by our quality test team . It will be done by schedule.

So the beta bios which released by me is the most up to date .

Here is the lastest bios and tools . I will put them on our site beta zone soon .

Z77 OC Formula beta Bios update to 1.42g . improved bclk training , windows8 support , trrd. trtp .twtr. can be lower to 1 now

http://picx.xfastest.com/nickshih/asrock/Z77OCF142g.rar

Z77 OC Formula Tools . Formula drive 0.2.13 , Rapid OC 1.0.16 , Timing Configurator 1.0.10 trrd. trtp . twtr. can be lower to 1 now

Another excellent review over @ Kitguru

Seems they had no problem running 2x4 GB Dominator Platinum @ 2,666 mhz, reaching 30 Gb/s! thumb.gif

will this work?

= Corsair Dominator Platinum (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1866 CL9 (CMD8GX3M2A1866C9)
= Corsair Dominator Platinum (Dual) 2x8gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (CMD16GX3M2A1600C9)

also question if ever I do upgarde in future to get a 2x4gb or 2x8gb, will there be a problem if I put 2 dual ram (2 of 2x4gb /2 of 2x8gb) ?

thanks

hey man, a lot of us over at OCAU are running z77 with the TridentX 2600C10 for superPi efficiency. The kit you linked will be fine, as long as your CPU can handle it. Would highly recommend grabbing Nicks latest BIOS (currently at 1.42G), I noticed some preety good memory differences from official to modified.

these will all work, but I personally don't think the Dominator kits are very good value for money unless you are keen on the brand (for whatever reason), the lights, or the color.
Mixing up rams shouldn't really be a big deal except when you are the bleeding edge of your chip (2500+), just keep in mind all of your memory will run at the lowest speed and loosest timings of all your chips. IE. if you had 1600C8 and 2666C11, you'll end up at 1600C11.

edits: 4am, nick let me know when you want to do a competition. Would love to see what you can do, and how many hours you can trump me by.
