Corsair dominator ddr2 1066 (pc2 8500)

Asus striker extreme

core 2 duo E6700

I want the Corsair to run at its stock speed..would I need to overclock it to work or would it work at all..
At stock, the RAM will run at DDR2 800 speeds, since that's the max supported speed of the motherboard. So, you'll need to overclock to reach the DDR2 1066 speeds. You'll need an FSB of 355MHz to achieve this.

However, increasing RAM speed won't have *that* huge an impact. I did runs with my RAM at DDR2 667 speeds and DDR2 1000 speeds (all other settings identical), and the SuperPi times were 17.014s and 16.734s respectively. Thus, a noticable difference, but not a huge difference.

Also, I think there is better DDR2 1066 RAM than the Dominators.

Yeah I know

You could get the G.Skill DDR2 800 stuff, since that likely will overclock plenty high.
