Not to mention the Extreme4 actually uses D-PAK MOSFETs.

And some info about the GD65:

The board is most likely 8+2+2(maybe 1+1 for the last +2) It is good enough for any OC really, however form what I hear its max vcore isn't high enough for extreme OC without a special BIOS. But as long as you are on air/water or possible dry ice it should be great.

A lot of people recommend the UD3H when it comes to gigabyte. Is the UD5H any better?
Considering new egg has it as a daily deal today.

If you need the extra connectivity then yes.

what I'd be curious on, is how do the biostar boards fare against the UD3H, and how does the Asus P8Z77-LK fare against the UD3H. I'm a bit curious about the gd65, id expect it be a questionable and low quality board but I wouldnt want to say bad things without knowing.

In my country the UD3H and Extreme6 are the exact same price. I know the Extreme6 is meant to be compared to the UD5H because of their similar price, but in my case the UD5H is far more expensive than the Extreme6.

Extreme6 vs UD3H, who wins?

UD3H, unless you need the extra connectivity of the E6.

UD3H is meant to compare with Extreme4 but it has everything you could need incl. onboard debug, voltage read points etc.

Thanks for the opinion. I just wish the UD3H had a second (even inconsequential) heatsink for a better aesthetic. I'm (silly) guess is it would mess a bit with LN2 scenarios and the VRM is good enough to not require one in the first place. Go figure.

Gigabyte has better VRMs, done deal.

Are you talking about the Northbridge or the Mosfet sink? Both should be replaceable, it looks like they are both held to the board by removable screws.

The z77 gd65 is pretty solid. I went & killed mine (I don't recommend using any motherboard when it has puddles of water on it), but worked great when running it properly.
If it can manage this, should be able to handle whatever anyone can throw at it on air & water. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2376705

z77 ud3h has been a solid board for me so far as well, although the clear cmos button location sucks, & have to install drivers to use more than 2 x usb ports (I keep drivers on a usb flash, with keyboard & mouse plugged in, does not work & had to find the dvd drive).
