Can't boot from Dvd drive

Hello recently I bought an intel core i7-2600k and an Asus p8z77-vk but I ran into a very ******* irritating problem I can't boot from the dvd drive to install/reformatting my hard drive I get a message telling me I need to input the proper boot media and restart. I've changed my boot order multiple times to no avail so I don't know what to do now please help.

it sounds like you DVD media (Windows 7 right?) is not being detected as a bootable medium. Does it even spin the disk up? If it does, then just make a bootable USB, if you have the capability to do so. If not, then you need to replace your disk.

Great I tried to boot into Windows with the flash drive and it still won't work, I went on my brothers computer that uses the exact same motherboard and it boots from my flash drive *** I also tried my old motherboard and guess what it won't boot! I guess I'll have to take my paper weight PC to a computer shop great I thought it was going to work.
