Suggestions for Fan Controller

I have a Lamptron FC Touch because I require the 30W per channel and I actually use all 6 channels.

I have two drive bay slots available and I love the looks of the Aquacomputer equipment. I'll be honest, the brands and whatnot confuse the hell out of me! redface.gif But from what I've seen it looks like they don't have anything that can support what I'm looking for.

I'm just curious though, what is the Acquero and the Poweradjust and whatnot? Is it possible for me to fill up two drive bays and still have the power I require for my fans or should I just stick with the Lamptron FC Touch?

The aquaero's awesome, I run the LT (but I don't have a lot of fan control needs - all the fans on my rad are PWM.) The best thing about it is the automation-- get an inline water temp sensor or two, a couple air temp sensors (ambient, into rad, out of rad), and then set up automatic fan controllers. (I run my rad fans based on the difference between the water temp and ambient, and a couple intake fans based on the difference between case temp and ambient.)

If you get the block for the main board you can allegedly get some pretty awesome wattage out of the 4 channels on it, and the poweradjust adds a few more which should suit your needs. Their english forum's alright, but there isn't a huge amount of activity there.

What about the multiswitch for my fans and the poweradjust for my pumps? It looks like the multiswitch has 8 channels? I'm not sure of the wattage per channel though. I might need a poweradjust for that too since each of my fans are about .22A running but require some ridiculous startup amperage over half an amp. Might even be closer to an amp.

I don't know the specs off the top of my head, but the aquaero's rated for a pretty good startup amperage. You should look up the specs as far as your power needs, but the aquaero is freaking awesome when it comes to automation and temp monitoring.

Shoggy, can you comment on this?

I'd like something primarily for my fans - but I'd like to fill up two drive bays for a clean look.

I have two MCP35x pumps as well.

My fans draw 0.22A on full load and apparently 0.97A on startup. I was told by Lamptron that if you start them up at 50% power on the controller, they will only startup at half the amperage. This way I don't exceed the channels power since 0.97A * 12V = 11.64W per fan for startup and I have four fans on a 30W channel. Not sure if the Aquacomputer components are the same.

Acquero? Poweradjust? Multiswitch? It's confusing to me what they all mean.

Get an Aquaero and 3 PA2's and you will be fine. This will fill up two bays, look clean and allow you to run everything you have.

Okay. Sounds good so far.

How do 3 PA2's only fill up 2 bays with an Acquero though?
the PA2 mounting plate holds 3 PA2s and fits in one bay...the other bay is for the aquaero...

In this pic the PA2's are located under the top A5. You can get a FACEPLATE to hold three PA2's.

Oh wow nifty. So:

How many channels does this give me?
How many watts per channel?
How do they get power (I saw something about USB)?

Thanks again!
