Look at my post on your's thread Looking for a Mid-tower case.

I agree with what edsai posted to your thread ninja. I'll say this I had the same debate you are currently in and I chose the 300R with a window and I'm not disatisfied at all. I think it's a great case, I heard good things about corsair and they did not dissappoint me.

The 300R appears to have a larger window, and if you are looking for a downsize in case size the 300r is slightly smaller but I can vouch that there is plenty of build room in it. I made a move from a larger case to the 300R and now I love how easy it is to move the PC compared to before. I think the 300R has a better and more well thought out look than the Antec 1100 ( i don't really like the bunch of mesh looking plastic on its front) plastic front mesh was part of why I fell out of love with my first and larger cougar evolution case. After looking again at videos and pics of the antec I just think it looks a bit cheaply made.

That being said the 1100 does have grommets( but look cheap) and larger fans stock from factory. I don't like that the 1100 has so many HDD drive bays ( but if you need that its a plus) but I wanted better airflow through the case which i believe the 300R would have due to not having a huge fixed drive cage top to bottom. I also don't like the fan cut out behind the cpu cut out on the 1100, it feels pointless because there is no need for cooling there and I would leave it unused and I think thats ugly and a place for dust to just come in unessesarily. The cut out on the back panel may give more cabling space but personally I had no problem with the 300R because there is plenty of room and I prefer the flat flush look of its side panels ( The back panel on mine has been tricky to get on every now and then and I don't know why). The 300R does have a very large CPU cut out so accessing the cpu cooler is not a problem.

There are links to the reviews at the top of this thread so take a look at those vids and it may help, also searching antec 1100 on youtube brings up several for that case too.

Honestly it comes down to basically the aesthetics your looking for as well as size of case and window and how streamline you like it to look ( I feel the 300R wins that). I hope that helps, let us know what you decide smile.gif

Can't wait to get this case and have a new look for my system. biggrin.gif If only the windowed version didn't have the holes for fans. It would be a much cleaner look.
agreed , since im not using any side panel fans i would much rather have one without holes, but i guess you could always replace the side window with a acrylic , i got my acrylic at a hardware store , did a rough fitting with some cardboard first and them got the measurements, they actually cut the pieces out for me which was nice. Also just got my GTX 660 ti installed

I just bought one of these last week.
My first was missing the included front dust filter, and now my new one has stripped PCI-E bracket thumbscrews. Corsair has been amazing in thier tech support and is SCHEDULED to mail me some smile.gif
I am excited about my next AMD build (Piledriver) to be housed in this beast. I got it for 67$ CAD ALL IN. So no qualms. Only wish that the side panels SWUNG open like my older Antec 300. Will post pics of build when its assembled smile.gif

>> If people have, and I assume the affirmative, what types of dust filters have you used to cover the top 140mm's and the side 120mm's? Where did you order them? Im in Canada, so shipping is an issue.
I have a lot of dust in my room...and my current dust filters get swamped after a couple days sometimes...so not having them over open grills would be a bad idea.

Thoughts?

The most important locations to have dust filters are for the intake fans (front panel, side panel and the bottom location).
The top and rear locations are for the exhaust fans.

The 300R comes with dust filters at the front and the bottom locations.

There's dust filters like these from Akasa.

My 300R:
Thread Starter
I finally got my NZXT HUE from newegg and got it installed in my 300R. Since its purely a visually upgrade I'll include a good bit of pictures below.

Ill also include a simple diagram as to how i ran the whole strip of LEDs around the case for others to see if they want to do it similarly. I have seen pictures of others running of the strip and felt that more light could be made within the case by running it around the roof as i did, and I feel it gave a lot more light in the case to all the components.

In securing the LED strip to the case i did not use the 3m sticky strip on the back. I used zip (quick) ties to secure it to the front, back, and roof ( they are not very noticeable, and my case is elevated so I don't ever look at the roof).

Blue (above)

White (looks light green because of camera i guess)

Green

Aqua blue (light blue)

Front of the case with the HUE installed, it has brushed aluminum plastic look which fits very well with the front of the 300R which has the same type of look

Inside the top and bottom with the White LED on (shows the most details and brightness)

Inside with Aqua blue ( my favorite actually)

Inside with Green color on ( it matches my front green fans very well, wish i didn't have the blue side fans)

Aqua is my favorite color because it matches the side fans well enough and it seems to provide a bunch of brightness of light then just the straight Blue)

Maybe at some point i'll switch out the side fans so that it is less of a clash of colors (although i kind of like it haha)

Overall I'm highly satisfied with my experience with this great product and I'm very happy that I got it because it gives so many options as opposed to a regular LED strip. I have changing tastes sometimes and this is an ALL in one product that puts a great look into your pc case.

Sorry for so many pics but I figured I'd be as thorough as possible to let others see how the case maight look if they wanted to buy their own nzxt Hue.

What do y'all think?

i think it looks pretty good. this is exactly what i wanted to see.

I have decided to go with the 300r for my upgrade. However, i will not be upgrading until haswell. thumb.gif that way i can save up for it and really make it look good.. I have decided to go with Cold Cathodes for my build instead of the nzxt hue (thanks for the pic. It was very helpful. Ill be posting in this thread when I do upgrade.
