Which is the best Air Cooler for FX-8150? - Page 4

I have to say I love the Noctua D14 even with its poopy brown colors. I cant get my 6 core oced at 4.0 hotter then 45c. TR Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme is also a great cooler. Remember they are LARGE coolers make sure you case can fit it AND make sure they clear the ram.

No. High end air cooling is quieter and performs better than all but the H100. Even then, the H100 is only ahead when the fans are run off straight 12v, and only by a couple degrees at best. That and of course, they have "problems" associated with CLC.

I currently using the thermaltake big 760 plus water cooler. The h100 looks nice but i heard they can leak too.

Any CLC can leak, die- or otherwise do something that may damage your computer. Corsair's customer support is pretty legendary, though.

That said, I'd still recommend a high end air setup over a CLC, approaching the price of the H100 and some decent fans- I would recommend a Rasa water kit.

They have what some call good customer support because it's good marketing. But to me good customer service would be selling a quality product and not one with known issues. Or RMA'ing over the counter at nearest Corsair dealer and not having to pay out of pocket to send defective product back.

*They have been lousy at resolving their pump & fan control issues.
*They continue to sell CLCs with pump & fan control issues.. Even saying the problem is resolved and having buyers RMAing the RMA replacements.. and often customer has to pay exorbitant post prices to return for RMA.... like £30 from UK.
*In the mean time customer has to find something else to cool their CPU or put system in the corner and wait weeks for RMA process.
*They should be RMA'ing over the counter at nearest Corsair dealer, but they are not.

And still the problems continue

Lol, hey now! I never said -Corsair- was good. I just know that their support for issues is pretty amazing. That said, my H80 had pump grinding (hence why I replaced it with the PC14PE <3) and I had an old TX650 that had really nasty coil whine, even idle. Only thing I've really, REALLY loved so far has been this case. /shrug

yea that is my biggest thing is worried about my hard work and great deals I have come across lately to lose it all due to a leak even though it hasent lead yet. The system works great and keeps my CPU around 45c load and if the room is hot about 49c load. Most of the time it idle at 26c-29c, with average usage 34c, gaming of course put it 45c-49c. Before i had issues bringing that thing down 55c on air with the CM Hyper 212 Plus.

To hell with worrying about a leak. What about having your computer down for 4-6 weeks waiting for RMA cooler? mad.gif

And when replacement arrives it's doing the same thing the one you sent in was doing. mad.gif\
