Asus Xonar Essence STX no sound through headphones

Thread Starter
Ok so today i went out and bought a Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card got home and installed it got latest drivers from asus website and i get no sound through the head phone plug the only way i could get sound out of the sound card was by plugging in the red and white rca to 3.5mm jack adaptor to power my head phones. Does any one know how to fix the headphone amp or is it driver related or is it just plain broken.

***please remove this thread i am retarded***

The Xonar cards have a hardware based switch that changes output from its RCA outputs to the headphone output. You need to go into the software and choose headphones as your output device. Also, there are two large or 1/4" jacks on the back of the card. One is for the microphone and one is for the headphones. Make sure you plugged to the headphone out. Switch the output device in the interface and your should have headphone sound.

is there an option that enables the RCA's AND headphone output at the same time? and what happens if i plug my regular speaker to the headphone jack, is there something special about it or its simply labeled as Headphone just for easy guidance?
