Borderlands 2 with Hybrid PhysX - Page 14

Rolled back to the 285 drivers and 9.11.0621 physx that comes wth them. Stuttering is pretty much all gone on high physx

You will find areas that bring your fps down, unless they fixed them in a patch. I could go from 60 fps (vsync) down to 0 with 7970 and a 9800 gtx+

I got a 630 with my 7970 and these stuttering slow downs suck. Well those old drivers fix it or should I take this card back to the store

Try the older Physx version with the newer drivers. I don't think the 630 is supported in the 285 drivers

but with my system in sigg and now this gt 220 borderlands 2 looks so much better, just wish it wouldnt lag so bad when you got enemy's all around you and stuff going BOOM!! lol i hope 2K will patch this game so that with physx set to high or medium wont lag down so much. beside i have other video options set to low or off to help or i hope it would help..

Everything I read said the minimum you need for this is 96 cores, like the GT240, GT430, GT440, GT530. I bought the GT 530 locally on Craigslist for $20, it is basically a GT430 + HDMI and has 96 cores, it works great in BL2, I used the Hybridiz.exe method posted on HardOCP forum. I also have a 9600 GSO but didnt want to use it because of the added heat and power draw.

Here's a helpful link were you can compare the cards and the cores etc.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units

I think the trick to finding a good Hybrid PhysX card is getting 96 cores with a low TDP, quiet fan and no power connector.

Not sure if anyone replied to you. I played with CPU physics in BL2, with a Q9550 @3.6Ghz and a HD6970, and it was choppy with PhysX on High at 1900 x 1200. I then bought a GT 530 and installed it and ran the Hybridiz mod, and now I run BL2 on high and the frame rate is very smooth. I have also tested in Fluidmark v1.5, and it works also.

1) Install the latest WHQL driver and the latest PhysX software 9.12.013
2) Run Hybridiz.exe patch as admin.
3) move the following files to a different folder
in BL2 is to remove "PhysXDevice.dll"

Here's the guide I followed. Some of the links to the files no longer work like the Geforce 306.63 driver, but you can easily find them.

Also I don't think I have the latest physx installed, just the one that came with the whql driver.

also, SCAVENGER1, did you make sure to remove the physx***.dll files (but not the physxextensions.dll file) from the bl2 and fluidmark directories?

yes i did remove the correct physX files which also allow me to change the physX setting in game now, which is nice since before i couldnt change it at all.

ok, so i got everything working on this gt 640 with my radeon 7870. after a few benchmarks and such I am seeing a rather significant difference between it and the gt 620. i originally couldn't get it working with batman AC, however fluidmark and borderlands 2 worked just fine. anyway, got that working and the second to last scene in the demo with all the ice shards the gt 620 really struggled, this 640 handles it no problem, averaging 65fps, maxing at 120 and minimum of 31.(which this number actually occurs during a scene switch, where the screen is black.. weird).

anyway, thought some of you would be interested
