hmm any idea how to do this with the nvidia card?

with Nvidia card just save your 3D clocks to profile 1, go to setting and the profiles tab, it should have an option for 2D: use profile X and 3D: use profile X. Just set it to the one you saved for both.

It only stutters for me on the first "effect" when I start the game without doing this, so you probably don't need to. Once the first stutter is done it plays smoothly, presumably once the card realizes its being used it will not drop back to idle.

If I set it to anything larger than 256, it fails to launch (768 MB 8800 ultra). Thought I'd share.

Even with this setting changed (much improved by the way), I have the problem of physx dying at random intervals (0m to 4h) - no matter how long it takes, it always happens - anyone else get this issue?

I have tried installing the drivers backwards and forwards, with monitor plugged in the Nvidia card and monitor plugged in the ATI card (Only have one screen, so not both at the same time though).

My conclusion is that if you really think that you're getting the same result in a ATI+Nvidia Hybrid situation as you would in a pure Nvidia situation you are so fooling yourself. Hopefully I'm wrong, but anyway...

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H which have enough PCI-E connections to make this problem go away once for all, so that's what I'm going to do. I t has been an interesting trip, but now I'm moving forward...

Today: mad.gif
AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6870 for graphics
Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB for PhysX (Not fully satisfactory)

Tomorrow: smile.gif
Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB for graphics (SLI) and PhysX
Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB for graphics (SLI)

The day after tomorrow: biggrin.gif
Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB for graphics (SLI)
Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB for graphics (SLI)
Gigabyte GeForce GT 640 for PhysX

confused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gif

Yesterday, just for the hell of it, I though I'd try something else...

While the computer was running I moved the display from HD6870 to my 460GTX. Now I (Finally) could start the Nvidia Control Panel (NCP) so I did and checked the PhysX settings. There it said CPU eek.gif
But why have I seen a GPU-load on the 460GTX then? It seem like the NCP does not recognize the bla-bla-bla-GPU_PhysX.cmd registry settings?!
Aaaanyway...
Running Fluidmark on the GTX460 rendered 15% less FPS at the same settings as the Hybrid setup did, so I closed the NCP and switched back to the Hybrid setup with the display connected to the HD6870.
Now Fluidmark did not run at all. Well... The command/settings-window came up, but as soon as I tried to start the fluidmark itself I got a PhysX error and the benchmark shut down.

Hmmm....

I ran the bla-bla-bla-GPU_PhysX.cmd file to see if that did something and what do you know. Now the fluidmark worked again. With the same result as before though.

I thought I might as well check so BL2 works as well. I wouldn't want that to stop working. I checked the settings and there... The PhysX setting was grayed out confused.gif
Before I changed back and forth between the cards the setting was changable even in the Hybrid setup, but not any more.
It was grayed out on High, so it really doesn't matter...

Now for the strange thing...
When I started BL2 this time I noticed some difference. The game felt smoother as if I had a higher framerate and at the same time I though... Hmmm... What's that sound?
The fans on the GPU's were spinning more than they used to so I tried some PhysX out and ***??
Now it's running like hell. I see more PhysX effects, they are of higher quallity and the FPS has gone up quite a bit smile.gif
FINALLY the hybrid setup is working like it should, BUT!!!

Checking the GPU-load for the GTX460 now I see 0% eek.gif ***???

Now I really have no idea what's going on. I'm running PhysX off of the GPU (apparently), both GPU-fans are spinning up as a sign they are working. The FPS has improved remarkably and I have GPU-load 0%

Anyone see what's wrong here? confused.gif

Maybe your hardware monitor tool is on the fritz? Try a reboot and see if it's still 0% altho higher frame rates is always good news ill try to replicate next week

I got it to work for a while and it was awesome and now it just stopped working. Hybrid physx seems to only work for the first few restarts of the computer. I was able to disable and enable the device adapter and it still worked. I did this so programs would use the correct video card.
Edit
Now that it isn't working for hybrid physx, when I disable it and then disable it, it shows up on gpu-z as 0% being the highest it can do. But that is fixed when I restart gpu-z

Have restarted several times... no problem. Still working.

I just noticed though... The cuda/physx-files are back in the BL2-folder. That's why I have 0%, but it's strange it still works then!!
