Borderlands 2 with Hybrid PhysX - Page 27

Nothing. not including this line in [EngineEngine] and [SystemSettings] PhysX hardware works. They also say that the FluidMark, not let me turn on Physx, I also do it for CPU.

Help, please

greetings

Forgive the spelling mistakes, but not English and use a translator.

Did you remove the Cuda/Physx files?
G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32 folder and move all the Cuda/PhysX_____.dll files except for PhysXExtensions.dll to somewhere else.

If you read post 255 by supadupa he quotes intructions that got Physx working, had to also load the hybidz file in addition to using GenL's Physx mod.
That is all I did, I started with a HD6970 installed, then added my GT530:

installed Nvidia WHQL driver and PhysX.software 9.12.013
Then ran Hybridz.exe patch as admin
Then removed the 2 files from borderlands PhysXDevice and PhysXCore dlls.

I don't have the nvidia control pannel installed, can't open that, but physx works. There's another person earlier in this thread that tried the PhysX mod first, then tried to uninstall and use Hybidz but the intall got all messed up, so your results might not be good, but since your situation sounds the same as supadupa's I would try that first.
So many people have had problems using the PhysX mod, but the Hybridz method seems to have much better sucess, except you don't get the nvidia controll pannel (who cares!)

Hello again.

If I remove those 2 DLL I get error when starting the game.

But now at least, and managed to run the Physx in FluidMark. That is already a big step, at least it works Physx.

http://6600.es/images/1nblnvw0fvfzawjbt8h3.jpg

Now I have the latest drivers from ATI.

Install the latest drivers from Nvidia with the latest drivers for Physx?
Or what version of Nvidia drivers and Physx you recommend?
Greetings and thanks

I was running Borderlands 2 with 8800Gt but it didn-t do such a good job so i change it with a GT640 . I found out that the GPU that is used for physX has its limitations, when It reaches over 70% GPU usage i have graphic errors. This kind of errors apeard on other games like mafia 2 when I was using a HD5870 with a 8600 Gt for PhysX , then I bought the 8800 GT .
My curent specs is CPU - X4 965
GPU - HD 5970+GT 640
I am running Borderlands 2 whith the physX at high and the resolution 1280x720 .
The framerate goes from 60 fps to 10 fps .Sometimes i have 60 fps even in a very heavy physx area , i didn-t instal any updates for the physX engine of the game.
Did somebody else found the limitations of the PhysX GPU.

So the files you have remaining in folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32 are:

PhysXCooking.dll
PhysXExtensions.dll
PhysXLoader.dll

thats what I have left in my folder. The only difference is I only used the hybridz.exe, so if you want to do a clean install and try again, I suggest you only run that and see if it works. Maybe something left over from the other mod is interfering??

My GT530 never goes above 37%. Its the 2BG version of the card. That's why I never messed with limiting particles or anything, never had it drop out.

PhysXMeshCacheSize=64
Now i changed it to defaults . Thanks!
I just helped my friend set up PhysX on his PC. He has a HD 6950 and got a GT620 from Newegg shell shocker for $14!. At first it didn't work because he moved too many files out of the borderlands directory. I had him put everything back into the main folder except for PhysXDevice.dll and PhysXCore.dll and it worked.
He was then experiencing some lag, so I helped him change the PhysXGpuHeapSize=512 and the PhysXMeshCacheSize=32 and that helped a little, but do you know what the final fix was to end all stuttering in the game?

In the game video settings, I had him change Framerate to Unlimited (it was set to Smooth before) and that fixed it. Also vsysnc is set to Off. Like in Fluidmark without Async mode checked, the main GPU waits for physX data from the second card. Running unlimited framerate allows it to render faster.

Hope this helps someone.

He already was using the HD6950, so he installed the new card and followed this exact procedure:

1) Install the latest WHQL driver and the latest PhysX software 9.12.013
2) Run Hybridiz.exe patch as admin.
3) Create a new folder in this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32 and moved the following files into that folder
PhysXDevice and PhysXCore dlls (to hide them from game engine).

Files:

http://developer.download.nvidia.com/devzone/devcenter/gamegraphics/files/opengl/4.3/306.63_desktop_win8_winvista_win7_64bit_international.exe

http://194.71.11.69/pub/games/PC/guru3d/nvidia/PhysX_9.12.0807-[Guru3D.com].rar

http://www.ngohq.com/attachments/graphic-cards/3961d1349404086-how-to-fix-hybrid-physx-with-latest-physx-and-geforce-285-solved-hybridiz.exe

Here's the program GPU-Z that I use to monitor the GPU load on the second card to see if physx is working:

http://us1-dl.techpowerup.com//SysInfo/GPU-Z/GPU-Z.0.5.7.exe

I attached a screenshot of it showing how you can select which video card to monitor and use the sensors tab. When I alt-tab out of the game I can see the GPU load was about 35%.

Also here is a physx benchmark FluidMark, that you can use to confirm the GPU is running physX:
