They must consume as less as possible.

This.. I actually care about conserving the resources we have, they are limited and I care about the electric bill (although I don't pay it).

Nice thumb.gif

If all our energy resources were renewable and I had the money I'd build like 5 folding rigs and keep them on 24/7 biggrin.gif

Well that's just your case! xD but not for most of us,In big cities they come from fuel in thermo-electrical power plants.

In the USA over 70% of the Electricity is generated by using fossil fuels.Trust me I study mechanical engineering.thumb.gif

I'm glad you got that covered.thumb.gif

Keep in mind though, if one was to only perform heavy CPU tasks during winter, like Folding, and be able to turn off / down the heater as a result, the the net electricity use is zero.

My 2500k at 4.7 Ghz can't quite keep my room warm, so I'll probably add a GTX560 448core for this winter. I figure a single BD / Vishera may do the job equally well biggrin.gif

For anything beside Folding or non-stop encoding, I doubt electricity is a huge issue.

Behind CPU-Z that ran on this system overclocked, a new version of Cinebench was present. It will be based on the engine of Cinema 4D R13 (current Cinebench is based on rather old version 11.5), the availability of software is not announced yet).

So it's not really comparable to normal cinebench scores. Back to waiting for proper benches then tongue.gif
