Hello Power Gurus. 

 

I require a UPS for my main rig.

 

Recommend a UPS for 1200 AC Watts?

 

Supplemental Information (Click to show)

 

PROBLEM 1: 
Power draw exceeds 1100 Watts while folding. 
This is measured in AC between the Power Outlet and PSU.

 

PROBLEM 2: 

I do not fully understand the difference between VA and Watts. Please take this into account. If you have a resource or an explanation for a layman, please dispense! 

 

Any particular brand that you would recommend?

Not really. I think I need a PSU that is capable of 1200 Watts, but It seems they are at least $500.

 

I wonder if there are any surge suppressors that have voltage compensation and line conditioning.

What you need to know about UPS power ratings (and how that translates into Watts) is this, your power draw in Watts should not exceed 55-60% of the VA rating of the USP (~60% is the industry standard), so for a system that exceeds 1.1KW in AC draw you need a 2000VA UPS, though there are exceptions to this rule, units with superior PFC ratios (like the one I'll suggest below).

At this kind of AC draw you're not gonna' find something cheap (not something you'd want to buy anyway), I suggest you have a look at this, it's an online UPS at an excellent price (for what it offers).
