Thoughts on Roccat Arvo and Kova+ ?

Hi there biggrin.gif

I need advice on gaming mouses and keyboards as I came across these badboys but in need of advice whether I should get them or not. I am not a hardcore gamer, so I am not bothered about fancy features, but is the keyboard reliable and good enough for a casual gamer + typer?

Thanks

i have the kova+, the rubber bit on the thumb side fell off after a while, just the glue melting, double sided sticky tape fixed it just fine. all in all i like it.

It is entirely up to you; they both look amazing, but as said before me, some roccat stuff sometimes falls apart fairly quickly. And the keyboard isn't mechanical (again personal oppinion, but a lot of people prefer mechanical by a lot!)

Well I am not a hardcore gamer, I just want it because of the blue LEDs which will go with my whole system, so if it's good enough for casual gaming then I don't mind not having mechanical. It may make a difference to some but the keyboard i'm using right now is only £10 yet I have no problem playing games or anything with it.

If anyone can, any other keyboard/mouse that can be recommended with blue LEDs?

Lo Sanjax94,

I currently have the roccat arvo, and i can tell you it's a good keyboard, it's small (compact), which leaves you with more space on your desk. the keys are responsive and you have 3 keys that you can assign for whatever you like (i assigned it for volume up\down). the only issue i found on this keyboard is the caps lock, i use it for talking in games, like cs, and for some reason after a while the blue led is always on, so i don't know if caps is or off.... it's a bit annoying but it's ok... after all is a good keyboard for rubber domes...

Ok thanks for that. I'm stuck between either this or the Razer Lycosa. Any help?

I love the Kova+. I was blessed with one that doesn't fall apart after a week, and it's been going daily for 6+ months (Even in the Afghanistan desert!!) It's about the same size as a Razer Copperhead (fingertip grip for sure) and extremely light. If you like light, high DPI optical mice, this is the one for you. If not, check out the Razer Deathadder, Logitech G9x, Logitech G400/500/700 or Steelseries Xai and Sensei (and Sensei Raw). I've owned all of these, but with my style, I like the Sensei Raw and Kova+ the most.

I had a Lycosa. Worst keyboard I ever bought. The keypress was like a mushy laptop keyboard (cheap HP keyboard) and overall terrible. I liked the touch sensitive volume stuff, but that's about it.

So far, so good. Looks great alongside everything. No problems with it and it is good enough for me biggrin.gif
