Hopefully they will be remembered by current and future gamers for their great accomplishments in releasing games like Dragon Age and DA:O as well as Mass Effect 1-2 and their legacy will not be tarnished by the backlash and low quality associated with ME3 and DA2. With them gone however, I lose all hope in EA Bioware from here on out.

I enjoyed the hell out of a lot of games those guys made over the years, though less and less so in recent years.

I really hope that this means that Bioware is changing direction--that they're giving up on the idea of the convergence of video games with interactive b-movies, and are moving back in the direction of building worlds full of novel interactions. The fact that Drew Karpyshyn--the author of the bland stories that Bioware became the vehicle for--also left a few months ago is what has me crossing my fingers.

Though I fear it may just get worse.

.

Don't forget the classics Baldurs gate 1 and 2 and neverwinter nights. Also their affiliation with black isle was a great thing for gaming back in the day.

That reminds me. Is the original KOTOR any good? Thought I might give it a go.

As a game developer who has dreamt of being a game developer since I was 7, I hope I'm never in the position of having to find a new dream job, I'm not sure what I'd do with myself. These guys are in the position of having a pile of cash though, which makes it easy to move on to something else they love. Good on them though, they've earned it. It's a shame BioWare sold out to EA though.
