"Good" is very debatable. EA both refuses to publish numbers about the game while simultaneously saying something like, “at least TOR is more profitable than Tiger Woods Golf, but it isn’t as profitable as our other franchises.” TOR is also the most expensive game ever made by quite a big margin. When you tell investors that you could’ve sold a new pet expansion in the Sims, or re-released a Medal of Honor game and made more money while using less time, less people, and less money, the guys holding the checkbooks are less than pleased.
George Lucas (well, his company) gets a huge cut of the post-breakeven profits if I remember correctly. Unless they have been preparing for F2P from the start, then that will also cost a significant amount of money. This game will probably have to make a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money in F2P to get to the point where it could be considered a long-term financial success considering how massive the initial investment was and how long the payback period will be.
