cooler master 700w silent pro for sli

Thread Starter
hello i have the above modular power supply running a i7 3770k (O.C. to 4.5ghz) in a sabertooth z77,16gb ballistix ram, gtx 560ti 2gb, one ssd, two hhd in raid. one cd drive, and a h60 cooler.

nothing too intensive, its for home use and gaming. just wondering if i went sli would my power supply be enough? i ask as the power supply is modular. i only have 2x6-8pin gpu power leads. the 560 gtx uses both of them but only six pins per power lead.

if i went sli would i have to power each card off of one power lead with a splitter. or split each lead and connect socket 1 on each of my gfx cards to one lead then connect socket 2 on both of my cards to anther power lead

or do i need a better power supply with four seperate gpu power leads?

bear i mind 2 splitters are less than a tenner and a new psu is over 100

can i get by with my power supply?

thanks for any advice

james

Where did you acquire a 7000 watt PSU?!

Joking aside, your PSU is plenty for 560's in SLI.

yay thanks for the answer smile.gif ive ammended it to the correct 700w in the title

cant wait till the jokers on ebay get their selves in gear and finally send me my 2nd gfx card. been over a month with tnt saying it was delivered and wasnt its all complicated and annoying. with borderlands 2 on preorder i suppose the only bonus is when it does appear ill be ready to see the difference

ill purchase the power splitters in advance. i can test a gfx card off of one lead and see if its dandy then. also the added length should help neaten my cable management.

thanks for your help

p.s. wheres the best place to go for leads. going with my asthetic i need black plugs and all black wires to match my modular cables.
