First of all, AMD's desktop CPUs are more than adequate for gaming purposes; anyone who argues anything else is the sort of useless fool that I don't have much patience for. Second, you obviously didn't read this thread, because this is about the danger that Haswell's integrated graphics pose to AMD and nVidia; the very idea is ridiculous considering the Intel has never produced an iGPU (or any GPU) that can be considered adequate.

I don't think Intel considers GPU computing a serious threat, since AMD's CPU department is having trouble keeping up with the Instructions Per Second game for single-threaded tasks.

First off, IPC has nothing to do with single-core speed, you can have a low-IPC but highly clocked fast single core and a high-IPC and lower clocked single core and depending on the techs used internally they'd likely be as fast as each other, IPC can be measured either per-thread or for as many cores as you want as well. (eg. AMDs IPC is much closer to Intels when you're comparing tasks that use all 8 cores, as an FX-8350 gets a lot closer to an i7 3770k at even the same clock speeds than it does in gaming)

Secondly, Intel certainly does which is why they're improving their IGP as much as they possibly can right now, but AMDs HSA implementation will be better afaik. (So even if Intel has a much faster iGPU in future, AMDs will be that much easier to code for it won't matter so much)

And AMD already has a number of partners for HSA, if the tools are as easy as marketed (I doubt it, but reckon they'll still be easier than current GPGPU implementations) then it'll take off on its own accord.

You must be blind to not see the leaked Haswell benches showing a 10% improvement over Ivy Bridge...Steamroller is going to be showing at least that much, if not more and will continue bringing AMD slowly closer to Intel.
Also, with the "AMD other then there APU is not very good" remark you've proven how little you've actually read...Take out synthetic benchmarks and gaming and the FX-8320 competes well with the i5 3570k (Both are picked because they're at the same clock speeds, despite the FX-8320 being cheaper) and even kicks its rear in a few cases. (eg. Compression, x264 encoding, etc)
It's only power consumption and single-threaded performance that AMD lags behind in, and truthfully only one of those matters for most people. (I severely doubt you'd notice the difference if someone snuck an AMD CPU in your gaming rig short of you running an i7 3930K or above/multiple GPUs although with a single card like the GTX 690 it's debatable and varies from game to game)

HD3000 and HD4000 are more than adequate, it's their drivers they have to work on.
And why the hell do we still not have a way to use Virtu with multiple screens?

If Intel's calculations are right, Haswell will be knocking on Trinity's backdoor. As 2x faster then HD 4000 is about equal to a 5800k in terms of gaming performance. Tho still nothing to be a threat to AMD as Richland will be out and offer 20-40% increase over Trinity. Intel can make fast graphics chips, just they don't have the technology there. Intel HD graphics, are just Intel HD graphics there's nothing unique about it.

imagine if Intel made discrete graphics card in next 20-30 years and we would be able to choose between NVIDIA, AMD and Intel cards.. That would be amazing for competition and customers.

HD 4000 isnt that bad. Overclock it to 1.6Ghz and pair it with 2133 memory and it can play BF3 multiplayer at 1024X768 on custom high with 50fps average. If HD 4600 is X2 then HD4000 it'll be amazing.

With how Crysis 3 is coming along; the iGPU should be dedicated to rendering physics/3d graphics related to ropes.

My HD 4870 did that. Its also a lot faster then HD 4000. 50fps means nothing in BF3.
