Need a good fan. Not sure if there is a fan section, but I thought this place made sense.

So my 212 EVO fan is super loud at 1800RPM. I'd like to get 2 X 140MM fans, and 1x 120MM fan. Any good suggestions?
Also the fan makes weird grinding noises now when the CPU is under loud, I undervolted the fan, and that solved the problem, but I'd have to undervolt it every single boot up, because I use speedfan software.

One thing i can think of that grinding sound can be from the friction with RAM stick or cable.

That's not really possible. The dimms and the fan and heatsink aren't close to touching.

How about these:

and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233095

Move more air than the Noctua and cheaper as well.thumb.gif They are only a few dBA loader than the Noctua at full speed.

I have been looking at these, but not sure how good they are, but I really don't know how good any fan is because I am working on building my first build and before this it is whatever came with the computer.

i would personally suggest using the 140mm fans for the cooler, corsair air series fans are really good

I can vouch for corsair air series sort of. Very good looking fans and they are pretty quiet though they are somewhat pricey as I needed 4 and they are about 15-20$

huh? dual pack on 120 is $27 and they 20% discount almost every month..
i got 4 pair for 80 shipped on a bulk and discount.. 8 fans 80 bucks..

i hadnt done much lately on air heatsinks.. but im a big BGears fan fan.
the 140 is $11 and the 120 is $10

140

from experience the 140 will undervolt excellently @ 7v still pushes
hard and no mech noise. the swiftech helix 120 (and now 140) are
a quiet air pumping choice. quiet and strong. the 120 is now
available in PWM as well... both are excellent radiator fans for
35-80mm rads @ 8-20fins per inch

I paid around 60$ for 4 actually. One 140AF, one 120AF, and a 2 pack of 120 SP all quiet edition.
