[Joystiq] PlayStation 3 redesigned again, launching later this year - Page 7

They raised the price? I realize you are getting a game and a voucher, but they revised it AND raised the price. That price only puts it a few dollars shy from the Wii U which also launches in November.

Why would anyone buy PS3 now ? , it's way too late for that , that said Sony sure milked this generation , it's the first PS to get 3 editions , it seems that time has stopped in 2006 for Sony.

I know I might.

I don't game on consoles, but for madden/nhl and a couple of exclusives having one would be nice. I also need a blu ray player to go along with the new tv I recently bought. Instead of spending $150 on a good player I can spend 280 and get a game console that has a good blu ray player plus a bunch of extra features along with the free game + voucher.

Its not like I'm paying $500-700 next winter for a ps4/720, so it will last me a couple of years and can be moved to another room as a blu ray player by then.

You'd think from most of the replies in this thread we have a rather large number of future technologies and markets consultants. rolleyes.gif

Seriously, Sony is a multi billion dollar company. If they think it's a good idea, then it's probably a good idea. They didn't get that big by listening to a bunch of whiny pc fan Boys on the internet. wink.gif

This. I am starting to wonder if this forum is just teenagers that do not understand that Sony, MS and Nintendo are around to make money.

All the PS3's have been ugly. Really though as a PC gamer it's the console to have. Too many of the 360's games are multi-plats and Wii is really a different audience (although the Nintendo core franchises are as good as ever).

Give it time, I am sure come Nov there will lower the price (or have great black friday sales like last year)

I honestly might just get one and play GT5 on it. Yes, I'm the type of guy to get a console just for one game.

Get Uncharted 2. Game of the generation to me. The third was a bit dissapointing but still excellent.

There's a lot of good exclusives on the PS3. Sony has built up a very nice stable of developers over the last few years.
