Ram overclocking 1333MHz to 2133MHz

Hello everyone. I plan to swap out my current system to build something to get a little money. I'm going from x79 to Z77 and would like to do a REALLY smooth looking system and the ONLY ram I could find that is dark blue like my tubing and motherboard is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145312

It's basic Corsair Dominator ram, but it's only 1333MHz. I was thinking I could overclock it to 2133MHz? Maybe more? I would like to squeeze as much out of these dimms as possible, but am affraid going that high on the ram is a little much, considering it's already 1.65v maybe that could help a little? If I can't hit those clock speeds I can at least hit 1866MHz right? Or if I can go more can I hit something like 2400MHz? I've never really overclocked ram before and don't know what to expect from it.

Bump still looking for help

Probably wont go that far due to being 1.65v @ 1333C9.

Stock settings on those are pretty terrible, but then again. The same can be said for the magical overclocking wonder memory made by Samsung.

That ram will never hit 2400 or 2133, i doubt it'll even hit 1866 without some super high timings

I've heard great things about Samsung's ram, do you think I could take off the heatspreader on the dominator and pop it on the Samsung dimms?
Probably not as they are to "DDR3L" specifications, and are super low profile because of this. They also don't need a heatspreader, RAM doesn't -need- heatspreaders at all. These Samsung DIMMs barely even get warm to the touch at 1.5v, let alone "hot".

I know, but in the OP I stated I only wanted these dimms because they're the ONLY dimms with a color I want. I'm very hypocritical about how my system looks ph34r-smiley.gif

If not I would get g-skill trident 2800mhz ram :/

It will be near impossible to get over 1866 as stated above.
It can depend on the kit, one guy on the bench team got a used 1333Mhz kit that had elpida hypers in it, ran 2000Mhz easily & could keep up with much more expensive kits. That is just pure luck though.
Never hurts to try & see how far it will go, but I will agree you would have to be very lucky to see 1866 or 2133 with any decent timings.

Try Samsungs and slap on some heatsinks you painted to match?
