Which motherboard to use? Z68 or Z77?

Hi guys, I have an MSI Z77a GD65 motherboard on my own use at the moment, before I had an asus mobo, but I recently got the asus mobo from warranty, and it´s brand new.

What bothers me about MSI is, every time I boot windows I have to change sound device from "external sound" to headphones to be able to listen to anything, and I´ve heard the Asus is better for OC/has better integrated audio card? Any tips guys? In other hand im bout to reinstall Windows 7 anyways so I might just aswell change mobo at same time?

Rest computer is;

Asus gtx 580 dcii
super flower 550w
fractal design r3 arctic white
2xkingstong ssd 128gb
1tb+500gb samsung f3
2x4gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
msi z77a gd65
silver arrow cpu cooler
dell u2412m
qpad mk80
tt esports theron

So is the Asus board a z68? Anyways both z77 & z68 are very similar. The z77 is the newer mode with usually a couple more bells and whistlesl. I do prefer the Asus boards over MSI though. The Asus will not neccesarily give you a higher OC, but they are just a very reliable brand.

I'd prefer the Z77. Mainly because it also supports Ivy Bridge. So if you should change your mind one day and get an Ivy, you wouldn't have to go hunting for a new MB too. I have a 2500k too by the way thumb.gif

^ Even some of the newer z68 boards support Ivy Bridge & pic-e gen 3. If you don't like the MSI sell/return it and stick with the z68 Asus.
