Is this memory correct?

Thread Starter
I am looking to add another 6gb of ram to m system and just wanted to double check if it was correct before I pull the trigger.

I have 6gb (2gbx3) of this corsair cm3x2g1600c9d6 and it is now discontinued so I was thinking that this might be a good match for it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145258

Does that look like it will be a good match?

If not then any suggestions?

Thanks!

This might not seem very helpful, but I have a thought about crossing dual-channel with triple-channel memory. I'd probably try to find another 2x3gb C9 set of memory. Just to keep things as even as possible.
I'm no expert on ram though, not by a long shot. This is just a thought smile.gif

I currently have trip channel ram. I think I posted trip channel that I wanted to buy as well. Maybe I missed something.

Honestly, it's probably best not mix two different kits at all.

My mistake then, I misread it! Long day at work and all that biggrin.gif That out of the way and the timings being the same, the only thing left as I see it is the voltage. If that is the same for both sets of RAM, I don't think there'll be a problem with it. According to my logic.
EDIT:

My initial thought as well from what I've heard and understood, but what if?

Don't mix Ram even if it's the same Spec but a few years different in manufacturing,

Why don't you go for a 12GB kit it would give you some more head room in the future and it only costs a little more than what you picked,

How is the Corsair Vengeance Series?

This looks good to me what do you think?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233146

The only thing I am unsure of is that is says 1.5 volts where as I have mine running at 1.65 volts not will that be an issue. I don't understand the memory/volts thing.

Any Corsair memory is considered good stuff thumb.gif

And don;t worry about the voltage the bios will auto adjust to it,

As memory technology has moved on over time the voltages have gone down as well so nothing to worry about,

I wouldn't go that far, they have made some truly great overclocking memory, but they have also had kits that were absolutely terrible.

Ok you got me but for the most part they are very good and on a different note most RAM companies have made some shockers in there time,
