CS rate problem

Thread Starter
Hello,
I have a problem since a while now that I get a LOT of choke while playing cs or css. ( I didn't try any others FPS because its the only I play.) I get to 50 choke sometimes with the following info :

cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
rate 25000
cl_interp 0.01
(ex_interp 0.01 in cs 1.6)

The thing is that lowering the updaterate helps loosing choke. But when I lower it, my interp moves to like 0.03 and cause me to "lag". So I have to keep 101 as updaterate. It's very frustrating, I tried ad-aware scan, seek & destroy scan. Nothing found.

Any clues?

Oh also I have tested my Ethernet cable and it works fine.

Your settings are pretty optimum, you should get the most out of that. Besides, chokes are more to server's fault.

Actually yes. It very well may be your router.

When you have problems with internet, ALWAYS list that you have a router. Usually they're the main reason you've got the problem.

Is your routers program setup on your pc? And if so are the ports for CSS opened on the router?

If its your modem it's probably just old. My net kept dropping for a month straight after about 1hr of doing anything and I'd have to disconnect my modem and reconnect until I called comcast/timewarner cable and they came out and replaced my modem and I never had a problem since.
