How is this for a entry level gaming/HTPC

Thread Starter
I want to make a HTPC and entry level gaming system for a spare when the girlfriend plays

I have these parts just laying around

NZXT Source 210 Case
Pentium G630
4gb G.Skill Ripjaws CL6 Memory
P8H61-M LE CSM Motherboard
9800GT
Coolermaster 500W PSU
Standard Sata Optical
2 x 360Gb Raptors
2 x 1TB WD Black

How will this do with gaming such as Borderlands 2 and Battlefield 2?

If I upgrade video cards how bad will that CPU bottleneck a GTX 650 or 660?

Any machine built out of parts on hand is always good.

I think it would likely struggle with BF3...which is PC gamer speech for "It will not max out the game, but play OK on medium-ish settings at a 1080p resolution.

Fairly similar to my media machine in my exercise room...except I am running a Q9550. Though the only gaming I do on it is a PS2 emulator.

Look at this. Apparently not too bad...

Edit: I just realized you have the G630, not the g860...

Yeah my girlfriend is gaming on my old PC with a G850 and a GTX 480 and could not be happier. Totally maxes everything out on the 1680x1050 monitor she's using. We don't play BF3 so I can't say on that but it will max out Skyrim even with HD texture mods and whatnot while playing nice and smooth. Starcraft 2 runs great as well.
