Gaming mouse and keyboard for big hands

I'm looking for a gaming mouse and keyboard for my rather large Norwegian hands. Today I tried my friends' Razer naga MMO mouse and Lycosa keyboard out when I was helping him set up Borderlands 2 and it felt amazing in my hand.

I usually buy the $10 mouse and keyboards at Walmart but that experience made me change my mind about the importance of a quality mouse and keyboard. The naga fit my hand quite well, excluding the macro buttons and the side for your ring finger/pinky could have been a little bigger. I have no use for 12 macro buttons as I don't play MMOs. They could be useful for The Elder Scrolls but I can barely touch them because my thumb is too big and the buttons are far too small. As for the keyboard, the buttons were silky smooth and it felt great on my hands compared to this $9 Logitech I am using.

I mostly play FPS games so a couple extra macros would be a plus for adding a couple quick swap weapons or a key for ventrillo.

My Steam Library for reference so you get an idea of the games I play. I am also into Battlefield series and the older Elder Scrolls. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I was looking at the Razer Deathadder as it seems to be somewhat basic and a coule extra macro buttons. Not sure how it would fit my hand as I havent seen one in person. I am very open to other suggestions too. I don't really care about the "cool" factor with all the lights and glowing logo.

As for the keyboard I will probably get the Lycosa as I really liked the back lighting and basic key layout without all the curved keys that newer keyboards seem to have. The touch screen volume/video and backlight control to WASD is also a nice touch. Also completely open to other suggestions.

After reading through reviews it seems that tons of the Lycosa keyboards are defective and even the replacement ones from RMA have the same issues. I asked my friend and he confirms that his keys sometimes get "stuck" but its a software problem and not physically stuck. I would prefer to avoid this board after hearing this.

How are the Logitech G110 keyboards?

Hey, just wondering what is your budget and what are the key features in a keyboard/mouse you are looking for?

From what I can understand you are looking for a keyboard with:

- macro keys
- back light
- good for big hands

Yeah pretty much. Budget is <$100 for keyboard. As long as its good quality I could maybe consider going higher.

I think I'll end up getting the Razer deathadder but I dont know if weather to get the black edition or the 3.5G. Any suggestions before I make an order off newegg?

Why not a Ducky Keyboard and a Razer Deathadder?

I am interested in good keyboards and mice for my large hands also.

My hands are 9 inches from tip of fingers to the start of my wrist.. Average hand size is apparently 7.5inchs, and I entered my hand length on a website and it said my hands are larger than 99.6 percent of males my age (18)... I have only found 1 person with bigger hands who was my age, but he was 5 inches taller than me. Curse my hands lol... biggrin.gif

Well, if you haven't already brought the razer keyboard, you should have a look at the Leopold FC500R, Cooler Master Storm QuickFire Pro and ducky keyboards.

Seems like people on here love mechanical keyboards as I have been seeing them suggested more often then not. What makes them preferable? I haven't used one before so all I know is that they are noisy.

I havent ordered anything yet. Still waiting for some more opinions/ suggestions before I place my order.

I was like "Oh it's just a keyboard"... Well that was until I touched 3 keys of a mechanical keyboard, it was somewhat orgasmic.
