Strange icons

  • What happened?
    i came form a web page that used the facebook icon there as shown in picture

  • Are you able to reproduce this problem consistently?
    no it only happend once

  • What steps did you take to reproduce this problem?
    i tried the exact same steps it didnt happen again

  • What action did you expect to occur when this bug appeared?
    a normal icon

  • Any additional information that will help us diagnose the issue:
    waterfox newest release.... came from a site with the icon, assuming its tagged similarly thus confusing the browser

  • Browser, active browser addons, and operating system:
    waterfox, none, w7 64 bit

  • URL where the issue occurs:
    only occured once on a build log

This is a CSS sprite glitch - I am able to produce almost the exact same effect (with the Twitter icon, in place of the Facebook icon) if I remove the horizontal offset for that particular element.

(If you're not familiar with CSS sprites, they are a technique used to reduce the number of HTTP requests made on any given page load by combining many images into one large image file on a grid, then simply changing which portion of that large image is shown. Making more short HTTP requests has more overhead than transferring a larger file in a long request)

If this happens again, please do let us know. I expect it was simply a one-time page load guffaw.

that makes sense i wasnt aware you guys used that. i have used them in my stuff in the past and i do understand the problem now that you have brought that up. i agree it prob was a one time thing thanks for the heads up biggrin.gif
