I don't think there's any way one could argue this is anything but a gamer's card, regardless of price/value. It's too noisy at load to be in a HTPC/server TBH.

I don't run a strict server. It's basically a full fledged rig that sips power when not in use. My areca shuts down the array in 20 minutes, etc. But when I need to do some LAN MP like when friends are here, the server can do double duty. Dumb terminal is not what I prefer. Btw, the card is pretty quiet max out.
