Now Apple sues because Google is biasing their searches in favor of Google services, which is anti-competitive.

You just don't get it paulerxx. Some day this map app is going to be completely problem free. The same goes for a globalized Siri. A year or two down the line, they will be awesome, so they are awesome now by proxy. So in the meantime, just suck it up. Just console yourself with a warm and fuzzy feeling that the map app will eventually work. Also you should probably buy a cheap Android device. So you can actually find your way, if you intend on going somewhere.
The major problems should be fixed relatively soon I reckon. Like putting Hong Kong back in Hong Kong (lol). Again I don't see what's so hard to understand -- I like Apple Maps better than Google Maps -- I'm simply not effected by some of the problems that others are. And yes it has better potential.

I don't have any emotional tie with Apple. I lost very little from the switch to Apple Maps, and I like it better than Google Maps on iOS. I don't see what's hard to understand about that.

It was expected to be 'not as good' as Maps. But this isn't just 'not as good'. It is an unholy mess of bugs and inaccuracies. I've seen a dude from the class behind me nearly throwing his 4S onto the ground because of it.
I'm not a fanboy, and I don't see why liking Apple Maps over Google Maps makes me one either. I've never said Apple's actual mapping is as good as Google's, but Flyover is great and it's just going to take time until they can cover more and more areas. The app is buggy and inaccurate right now, but it's a big project.
