do you drill in so that it doesnt effect the pot making contact with the cpu, if that makes sense lol?

oh also a couple more generic questions.

How long does the dry ice usually last in the pot?

What do you guys think i should try for, high cpu frequency or something like super pi?

also i gotta brush up on my core 2 overclocking, been a while since ive done anything with them lol

get these too, kinda come in handy when using boards with no pwr and rest buttons..

I just ripped the front wires from an old computer case out. They work nice since they are nice and long and if you are careful you can take out the entire front panel switch.

If your pot doesn't have a hole, you can drill somewhere on the side, close to the base. Just make sure it doesn't go into the pot and doesn't ruin the base. Concern shouldn't be with how accurate it is. It just needs to be consistent.

I have no clue how long the DICE lasts in the pot, I just add more when temps start rising. It's a balancing act with acetone and DICE. I usually keep a low amount of DIce and acetone. I don't like filling the entire pot with DICE. You'll get the hang of it after your first try. Some times you need to add a little acetone for it to get colder. Then it's just a matter of keeping a good amount of DICE in it.

I'd try for max cpu-z first. Once you can't go any higher, then run things like PI. You'll basically work you're way up, then go back down. If you can run the benches at the same speed as max cpu-z, then you probably just need more tweaking to reach higher clocks.

Ok, everything is almost here. I want to get a test bench, i see someone here on the forums makes there on

http://www.overclock.net/t/1293430/tript-custom-test-benches-officially-for-sale

How exactly does the clamp thingy work lol

And one little thing i forgot is i probably will need a heatsink/fan so i can get windows installed etc, probably dont want to do that on DICE lol.

Also with those test benches, do i have to worry about condensation dripping down on to the components undernearth?

The clamp is a substitute for the mounting hardware that comes with the pot. Just put pot on the cpu and then that rod presses down on it. Just remebmer, everything is optional and customizable with Dwood's benches.

Most people use some big sheet of neoprene underneath the board.

Nothing makes it quicker to swap cpus..you have to peel the eraser back..make sure socket is clear..put new cpu in..redo eraser around socket..bolt pot back down and hope it makes good contact..:wheee.gif:
I LET around the socket area on the back of the board..and set it on 3-4 shop towels.
The back of the board does need protection.I've seen water dripping off of it before.
