It depends on what CPU you're running and what speeds/voltages you're running it at...
A Q6600 (Core 2 Quad) will chew through dice much faster than a C2D E6300 for example.
I'll give you an example from my own experience with S775.
- E6400 on Asus P5Q-E (that little board is often overlooked by overclockers, but it is a bit of a workhorse and cheap as dirt).
- 15lbs of Dry Ice (bought at local supermarket for $0.99/lb.
- I ran one session that lasted me about six hours and when I was with the chip; I still had about 4 lbs of dice left.
- Q6600 on the same motherboard.
- Bought 15 lbs of dry ice and that lasted me for about five hours.

All of the 2D benchmarks. There's a ton of points/fun to be gained from benching S775.

I once was at this very same fork in the road you find yourself at right now. I asked that very same question and this the best "how-to" that I got.
Overclocking S775 for Dummies
Raise VCore + Raise CPUNB Volts + Raise FSB + Bench = Profit.
This is, of course, very broad and general... But that's the "meat" of it... S775 is super easy to work with if you have a CPU that takes well to high FSB frequencies and the memory to handle them.
