Help me find a Mech Keyboard

Thread Starter
Ok,
so I've really enjoyed my Noppoo mini keyboard (black switches) but I really need my full sized keyboard with number pad...

so this is what I'm looking for

1)Back lit
2)volume control (preferably in a dial not just press to increase/decrease) I'm coming from a Logitech G11 and love the volume adjust on it
3) Mechanical switches, I'm really open to anything but blue...they're just TOO loud, I love the blacks but am willing to try something else.

I think thats it. what are ya'lls recommendations.

honestly I wish I could somehow switch out the G11 switches for Blacks because that would be perfect!

ou should have a look at those,

There are no mechanical keyboards that feature a volume knob, as far as I know.

I think the keyboard you are looking for is Corsair Vengeance K90.

- The back light is excellent. It looks really nice and you can set 3 different brightness modes. You can also turn it off of course.
- The volume control is a wheel and it works really well.
- And finally, it uses red switches. These are similar to black however require less force to be pressed.

I got one about 2 weeks ago and I love it. Also, Corsair is a great company. My first K90 had a defective key and the RMA was handled without any hassle.

EDIT: Indeed, I should add that the K90 is not fully mechanical. The keys marked red are not mechanical. I do think that for this price it should have been fully mechanical. I should also add that I don't use most of the non-mechanical keys, just the ESC and DEL key are being used quite often.

I just got one of these, Maxkeyboard Nighthawk X9, 2 days ago and it is by far the best keyboard I have EVER owned. Cherry Reds, FTW!

Only thing that bother me with the corsair is that you are paying a premium for a keyboard that is not fully mechanical. Of course it's only the function and macro keys.

Yes, very good point! I should have mentioned that.

Edited my post.
However you could also take that as an advantage as it's easy to tell the difference between the macro and non-macro keys.

Gigabyte Aivia Osmium fits your description. Neither it nor the Corsair has a great reputation for quality, but at least the Gigabyte is fully mechanical.

How important is backlighting to you? Azio Levetron Mech5 has a volume knob, but isn't backlit. Does have MX Black rather than Red, though.

If you want a bigger version of your Mini, Noppoo does make a full-size board, called the Choc Pro, which can be had with a backlight.
