Can't strap even at low multi "80MHz x 1.25x" with i7 3820 + GiGABYTE X79-UD3

My PC: i7 3820, Gigabyte 79-UD3, RIPJAWS Z 16GB 2133 CL9.
As the title says, the mobo refuses to boot at "Gear Ratio/Strap" 1.25x, 1.67x and so on.. Even at 12 multi x bclk 80MHz x 1.25x strap x 1.55Vcore, with any voltage on everything, it just refuses to boot.. I "THiNK" I have tried everything. I have fast memory it runs at 2280MHz at cl11. Many fans blowing into motherboard. Tried C-statesoff/on, loadline calibrations etc..

It runs fine 43x105.88MHz BCLK, resulting 4.5GHz @1.215Vcore,

I cannot OC with this board using Gear Ration / Strap at ALL!
CPU temperature at fullload is 62*C/147.2*F. I use two rad's.

Anybody out there has experienced/heard something about this NON-WORKiNG STRAP ****??? Please throw a word(or some) I can't be the only one here with this problem!? What can that be??? Waiting in high voltage for responses, thank you very max for replies!! biggrin.gif

Okay you can't take BCLK down to 80MHz. Yes the BCLK itself stock is 100 and going to high wont work, but the reason it wont work is b/c it need sto be within a certain 5%, however that is +/- 5%. So 95mhz and 105mhz would be okay ranges, 90MHz -110mhz would also be max ranges.

Lower your CPU multiplier.

Also set your strap first, set memory multiplier lower as well as CPU, memory speed also goes up with the strap!!!

I have tried everything between 80mhz -115mhz, 95-105.9, in 0.1MHz steps, also tried BCLK 100Mhz @ 1.25X strap, multi 12-40, all voltage up to 1.55V on cpu, ram is NOT a limiting factor. BUT NOTHING WORKS.
The strap is just non-working!
I can't understand a thing I. I'm just little bit mad and frustrated.

Here is some pictures:

What to do next?

that is odd, I have one of those, i will try with my 3820.

What I do for strap is load optimized defaults then set strap with 100x, however then I take down the memory multiplier a lot and make sure CPU multiplier and frequency wont be more than 4.5ghz, when it is then set vcore higher.

Try that, and I will try with that board.

OK. Did it, but Welcom screen hungs up 20seconds and white screen for 20 seconds than auto-reboot. Bios is F11, loaded optimized, saved restarted, into uefi again, and set vcore 1.45, reboot again, into uefi, 4.5GHz, CPU 43*C, PCH 29*C, windows loaded, welcome screen hungs up, white screen, reboot. Do you have same mobe and and cpu? which bios are you using??

I got the same problem, but with a ga-x79-ud5 board, I can clock to 4,5ghz with 105mhz*43 but when i try 1.25 it wont boot at all, does anyone know what to do?
I have the same problem on my MSI X79a 45GD 8D motherboard with the i7 3820 processor. I have also tried all kinds of settings, and have been trough every option in Sin's guide but can't figure out hot to get it to 1.25x. I know this is an old tread but i still have the problem. Anyone care to take a guess? It would be much appreciated.
