LCS External and internal Project.

Thread Starter
So I had this great idea (Prolly someone has already done this already but I just thought it was cool) I was thinking of having a LCS that could have a internal radiator and a external radiator tower for extra cooling. Now I want to do this with either a Corsair C70 or a CM Storm Stryker. It would have a QDC at the top punch out holes so I can easily disconnect it when I go to LANS and stuff. So can this be done? Also I would like to know what are the sizes for these precut holes so I can have them flush with holes so there not just dangling there. At the bottom I have used some Engineering paper to do a rough sketch of how this is going to look like.

I will use a Res/Pump combo to minimize space and money as well. Also interconnecter are just two sketches I made if anyone has other ideas shoot me one. :3

So you are just doing 1 external radiator? If thats so you may just want to use this to keep it all together. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25631

You can check out my DIY Radiator Stand build log in my sig if you want to add alot more cooling to your loop.

Either way, deff want to go with type 2. QDC's cause alot of restriction to begin with.

This is a great idea. I didn't put any rads internal to my case because of space considerations, and I am happy with my setup, but it does strike me as a really nice idea to have a minimal cooling capacity inside the case, and run with the external radbox as well when convenient for a ton of extra rad surface.

Yea, for now, when I do expand to have more water blocks e.g. chipset, GPU, HDD, RAM etc. I will add more external Rads. Yea, I'm thinking to use larger bore tubeing for the external so it won't case too much restriction.

Yea, That's nice and all but I want portability. Adding heavy or even light rads would put more weight that I would have to carry. I wanted the Sytrker but it would make more sense to go with a midtower and have one rad in there so I would minimize weight.
