Very silent rattle, what is causing this?

My PC is super quiet (save for the fan buzzing when you place your ear next to them), but there is one slight problem: no matter what I'm doing (just looking at the desktop, gaming, youtube, anything) I can hear a very faint "kind of rattle sound". Don't know how to explain it, but it's nearly silent but I can still hear it. The sound doesn't happen constantly, but it happens every few seconds.

During gaming, with the music on, you can't hear it. But once you go to the menu or anything, you can sometimes hear it. It just breaks the immersion and it's annoying, since I don't know what actually causes it. I'm not even sure it's the pc causing it, but then again: I have shut it down several times (and sat at my desk) without hearing anything.

Obviously, I have already opened my case and placed my ear next to the fans/gpu/cpu fan, but I can't hear the noise. Some of the fans makes a buzz, but it's not that. I actually thought it was my PSU at first (antec hcg) but I replaced that one with another brand and the sound is still there. It's not even loud, but it's just annoying because it's very silent, yet audible. The fact I don't know what's causing it, is making it worse.

Hard drive or part of the case would be my guess.

Prob the rattle of a fan cage/screw/paneling. I had this issue on my older antec case and the only way I was able to rid of that horrid rattle was to completely reassemble my case/reseat the mobo and parts. Never found it what it was.

Lol, I'm seriously considering selling this case and getting a corsair/antec. Only thing holding me back is my noctua dh14 cooler, it's quite big and doesn't fit in every case.

Do you have any sleeve/hdb fans mounted horizontally? The typically make odd bearing noises like that.

Just using stock case fans and the noctua dh14 mounted horizontally

One other small suggestion, if you cable management. Pop your cases' back off and ziptie loose wires. Vibrating connectors in back of case- SO annoying. The bearing crunch generally isnt "quiet" though, you can definitely pick that out if it's a bearing... could be on one of the internal fans though, unless you have listened to them all, that is. (IE on the D14)

antec truequiet (mine are 120)those fan are like normal fan but instead of screwing them ,you get a rubber style rod with a silicon style hole mount ,so you just pull that there then cut left over (dont cut too short in case you need to uninstall!quietest fan i ever put on my computer, hordered more to change the other i got (ya i love that wooosshh of wind and almost no other sound !wish they made a similar one for my intel i5 2500k and my amd 7950k antec might need to design a new shroud for both lol!

What about loose cabling. Could be virbrating against a panel perhaps behind the mobo tray?
