Wow are you guys overblowing this or what!? I agree that games are being dumbed down but you can hardly say that that is indicative of society as a whole. I hate to break it to you but gamers are not representative of the rest of the world. If any of us grew up on games that held your hand through every step of the story or gameplay we would have the same problems in figuring out what to do in the absence of those guides. Some would make the leap faster than others but we would all have the problem. With that said I'm glad there is a game that allows this level of freedom and I for one will really enjoy exploring the various options!

This thread is kinda ridiculous. Think about games like Fallout: New Vegas, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Counterstrike, Dota, Diablo and any of the other massively popular games that have both some sort of flexibility to gameplay and popularity. Come onnnn. Not all gamers are spoonfed. Just a large majority.

This game looks dope as heck though. Can't wait to check it out.

Eh, I see it every day constantly. I'd say this is a symptom of society as a whole lately.

Unfortunately there's no evidence to support that claim.

I see it as well and I did not mention just games. I said about movies, series, music etc and imho every year I feel that while a bunch of people make great stuff and contribute to what we have called humanity the other 5 billion are just dumb people. Again this is my opinion.

Every other game out there are like; go kill dude, a arrow/ path drawn on map will guide you, commence killing, you have killed dude, go get reward, another giant arrow guiding you, you have collected reward, talk to next NPC. I hate that. What happen to exploration, creativity, multiple way to finish level, hidden choices. I will definitely be getting this game. I am happy to know they decide not to dumb down this game.
-off topic-
here is the PREVIEW for anyone interested.
Nothing to do with player don't think.
In games people act different because game doesn't operate on the same logic as real world. In many game if a NPC tell you that is not the solution it means it is not a solution, therefore it becomes the logic they are accustom to.

I pretty sure the game doesn't support all real life action as well, and doesn't operate on real life logic too. If someone use this game's logic to play another game they will fail too, you won''t say it is because this game is too dumb down would you?

I blame WoW. It was the start of dumbing down for the masses.

At this rate games will just be a 3 hour long quicktime event...

Exactly. That's why most games have good graphics but crap gameplay. That's why they wanna stick Multi mode on every game. They don't even wanna THINK while developing games either biggrin.gif At least make those arrows/indications/haxxor mode switchable with Difficulty setting biggrin.gif That way, we could play on HARD from start and "casual" players would go on ez mode. All these years, I'm yet to find a game having actual notebook in that you can write things down for info, because you may be playing more than 1 game once a month. Or maybe I missed any. How about editable mission lists that I can give priority or add notes etc.
