Dell U2413 Official Information Appears:
Quote:
The new 24" model will indeed be called the U2413 and sticks with the 16:10 aspect ratio 1920 x 1200 resolution of its predecessors (U2412M and U2410). The screen is aimed at colour enthusiasts and is "designed out-of-the-box to provide consistent colour" through a factory calibration process. A factory calibration report is included in the box as well and the process is designed to ensure overall DeltaE of <2. The screen offers a colour gamut covering 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space (also covering 100% of sRGB and beyond - 120% is mentioned), and offers the user 6-axis control over the colour channels from the OSD. The screen also features hardware calibration with a programmable 14-bit LUT which is certainly something new for the Dell range and starts to aim these more at the professional, high end user. An optional X-rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter can also be included it seems. The panel also offers support for 1.07 billion colours (10-bit) although like the U2410 this is probably through an 8-bit + FRC panel as opposed to a full 10-bit module ...

And I just bought a U2412M... I wonder what the response time will be on the U2413.

didn't need to calibrate either one. NO AMOUNT of calibration can fix a physical defect. Yes I called AG that or atleast the amount Dell throws on their screens

Except Dell ultrasharps are professional monitors made for well lit office environments where AG is a necessity. Then you are comparing them to consumer products which fill an entirely different role. If you are using an ultrasharp as a consumer product replacement then you have to deal with the fact you bought an office product for your home. Point is that ultrasharps are fine for their intended use and their AG coating isn't a secret so I don't understand how people can still be up in arms about a product that wasn't designed for them in the first place.

At least it looks like it will have an SD card slot. I remember that being a deal breaker for some people looking at the U2412M. redface.gif

If you look at them side by side, you'll know. hell go out and get a cheap less AG coated screen and you'll notice that it has more pop than the dell Ultras.

There appears to be a trend with the newer panels from LG having less AG coating as demonstrated with the U2713HM and HP ZR2740w v2. We'll have to wait and see if this trend continues with the new lineup.

Brand-new Dell U2713H is a 27" brother of the new U2413

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/27.htm#dell_u2713h

Both new Dells, U2713H and U2413 belong to the new PremierColor line.

Those Korean 1440p monitors sound real nice, but I have a hard time giving up domestic "premium" warranty and fully adjustable stand.

Don't worry about that! You have the same standard warranty as you would with any monitor bought stateside, you just have to ship it back to Korea to get it honored. In any case I have had mine for almost a year now and it is still working perfectly. The image quality is actually noticeably better than the Dell 30" UltraSharp it replaced.

As far as stands go just buy a stand. Many of them have VESA mounting on the back.

No thats what their P lineup is for. Ultras are for people that want top tier color. Home or profffessional but I see your point. Still way too aggressive
