Help picking Mobo, really confused.

I originally had more money for this and had already decided but I had to spend it, unfortunately.

I've asked on multiple forums many many many things over the past week and I really don't know what motherboard to choose at this point. I've heard good things about Asrock, then I hear things about how their quality control sucks, and how this board is good, then hear it has issues.

I have a budget of about 150$USD for this thing. I'll just let you guys decide. ~Sigh... Preferably Asus or Asrock, but if there is something better, then, okay.

Here is what I plan to use:

- i3-2120
- Sapphire HD 7770 GHz Edition
- CM Hyper 212 Evo Cooler
- Corsair Vengeance 2x2GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600
- Seasonic X-560 560W 80 Plus Gold PSU
- 500GB Seagate Barracuda ~ I think this is SATA
- Asus 24x DVD Burner

Case: I've already asked for suggestions on a case w/ good airflow, and I'm still deciding. Depends on what mobo, because that'll determine how much I can spend for the case.

Here are what I have considered:
- Asrock Z77 Extreme 4, but decided against it, since I won't be upgrading for a long time and the i3 I'm getting won't overclock anyway.
- Asrock Z77 Pro 3, because it was cheap then read about its many issues.
- Asus P8H77-V LE, then read it causes BSODs and sounds are either bad or don't work on Windows 7 x64.
- Bunch of other boards that I decided were too expensive, as I can't spend much more than 150$USD.

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I read all Z77 boards have issues and that's why I haven't bought the Asrock Z77 Extreme 4.
Does this case have good/decent airflow for this system? It was recommend to me twice. smile.gif

How about this Gigabyte board for $149.99
http://microcenter.com/product/387556/GA-Z77X-UD3H_LGA_1155_Z77_ATX_Intel_Motherboard

The HAF 912 does have excellent airflow. I also like the Rosewill Challenger

Good luck with your build.

just grab any b75 or h77 motherboard and you'll be fine.

if you're not overclocking and won't be upgrading for a while.. there's no real point in getting a z77.

case is fine, but personal preference.
i'd grab something like a corsair carbide or something similar.

I agree.
Even if you do eventually decide to get a new chip and mobo to overclock, I assume it would be easier to sell off or reuse the i3 with a mobo.

Oh, yeah, I guess I don't need the Z77's overclocking capability. Would the Asus P8H77-V LE board, macca dj, perform the same other than no overclocking and no SLI? What about the Asrock H77 Pro4? Is it a good buy?

Yes, initially I wanted a super cheap case. I found out recently that airflow is important. The HAF 912 seems like a good option to me AND it looks awesome, IMO. smile.gif
