Incorrect temps?

CPU-Z and HWMonitor both show my CPU idling at 17c. I have an A6-3560. Under full load it hits about 45c. What could be the issue? Wrong sensors???

I have a ASrock A75M motherboard.

Room temperature?

AMD temperatures don't exactly line up well with ambients, that said, as long as they are within spec, don't worry at all. AMD sensors calibrate based on loading to an arbitrary scale. 45C at load sounds about right.

I'm more so wondering about the temps being too low. I am running a stock cooler. Under Prime95 full load Core Temp tells me I am at 40c. When idling it says my temps are as low as 10C! Are these APU's running really cool? Seems real unlikely with the 1.4v stock! The chip I am running is undervolted to 1.275v @ 2.6GHZ CnQ disabled. Same goes for HWMonitor.

I should also mention that my BIOS say's I am at 34c idle...My worries are that if I run PRIME95 all night w/ the stock cooler that my CPU will get to hot. Checking for stability on undervolt. It's hitting 42c on FALSE readings and drops as low as 7c. That worries me. If 7c = 35c then 42c has to = like 77C. I think these had a TJ max of 80c!

When I run HWiNFO64 it shows what appears to be the correct CPU temps on the Nuvoton sensor- But only shows as if the CPU only has one core (Which doesn't bother me because I know cores slightly fluctuate)

That is because the BIOS reports TCase (IHS > HSF Junction) estimation, and CoreTemp reports TCTL (ODS-Core) estimation. Trust the BIOS temperature as AMD rates their maximum safe temperatures based on TCase. Truth be told though, they are both wrong when you try to compare them with "room temperature", yes they are represented in celsuis, but it starts on an arbitrary number. As long as TCase isn't too hot, you're fine. 34C in the BIOS is pretty decent, actually.

Edit: by the way, those readings you call "false", the TCTL (core) number- they are at their most accurate when the chip is under load and the die temperature is equal to 45C. Like I said, don't try and compare them to standard temperatures, just make sure that they stay in specification.

Edit for content:

How my temps look running F@H.
