HDTV vs PC Monitor

Thread Starter
As the title says,

Looking to ditch this 32" hdtv and move onto something better.
I use it for gaming as well as editing, web browsing etc etc and of course movies from bed.

After spending a lot of time using my galaxy s3 this monitor just does not cut it anymore!

What to do?

Narrowed it down to a few choices...

Samsung 27" S27B970
Dell 27" U2711
Dell 27" U2713HM

Just a bit paranoid that it might be a bit small to watch movies on going from a 32"
I put a 42" IPS in here for a test and was really nice from bed but unfortunately don't have enough room to keep both a monitor and tv.

My question is;

Is there a high end 32" hdtv that has a nice thin bezel and can be calibrated really nice or if i want clarity im pretty much stuck with a monitor
3-4 Displays hmm, not too keen on the frames.
Has anyone made a similar switch, would love to get some feed back....
Input appreciated guys!
P.s I want best image possible, I don't care if I have to save up a bit longer

If you want the best image possible, then a high end 2560 x 1440 / 1600 monitor is the only way to go. I don't know how large your room is, but my Dell 30" is perfect for watching movies from the couch or bed in my room. A large tv would just make matters worse [unless you have 25k to spend on a 4k tv rolleyes.gif]

Crossover 27Q LED-P. I have one, never will go back to anything else. I own 120hz monitors, TN monitors, Top of the line Sony LED 47" HDTV. Nothing touches how good this Crossover is IMO.

I've got three of these for bedroom TVs and they're fantastic!

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VIERA-TC-L32E5-32-Inch-LED-LCD/dp/B00752RACW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1348367986&sr=8-2&keywords=ips+tv

I'm considering getting another to use as a gaming monitor.

The 3" makes a bigger difference than you think, since you're comparing 16:10 and 16:9. The 27" monitor is actually 28% smaller in terms of viewable area, and even 16:9 content comes out a hair larger on the 30". If bigger is what you're after, then it's 30" or bust.

For higher res like that you need more "GB" I think that the 7950 would be better or a more expensive 3GB 660?
