Corsair Vengeance 2000 Help Needed

Thread Starter
Hey, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong place, bit confusing...

Anyway, I just got a new Vengeance 2000 headset, and I'm hearing a constant quiet 'static' sort of sound (a bit like the sound a TV makes when it has no signal and is all grey and fuzzy...heh). Now, the strange thing is that the sound goes away if I mute the PC audio using the volume control. It is always there if the volume is turned up at all, and doesn't change depending on if I play music, or play a game, it is always in the background. The only thing that gets rid of it is muting the whole system volume, or muting only the programs that output audio (itunes, etc) in the volume mixer.

Now the sound is not the end of the world, but I want to know if it is normal or not? I have contacted Corsair and they have suggested RMA but I don't really want to do this as I need to use it for a LAN in the next week..... I have not heard something like this before, but then again this is my first wireless headset, so maybe it is to do with that? If anyone (other owners?) can offer any sort of help, I would very much appreciate it.

Cheers!

I have this headset and no static to be found. Did you download the corsair program from their site?

Check for anything that could cause interference. Maybe something else shares the same frequency.

Yeah I did.

And I have checked for anything that could cause interferance.... I may see how it goes, and if they don't improve send them off in a few weeks for RMA.

Hold up! Do you have a sound card? My old computer had a "static" noise on my Vengeance 1300's and I got a cheap Xonar DG and all is well now.

Edit: Forgot Vengeance 2000 is USB.
