If your going with a standard HDD you may want to look into the new Seagate drives with OptiCache you can find them by the model at the end M003.

If you are near a Microcenter then go there to buy your cpu. Plus that mobo is on sale for $200.
You don't really need a 750W psu for just one video card so you can get a smaller one.
I would suggest getting an SSD for your boot drive. It is much faster. Also if you get say a 240 GB drive and put your favorite games on it the responsiveness is really impressive. The Samsung 830 is a great drive.

If you are going for more than a light overclock then you might want to get an H80 or H100 for better cooling.
Enjoy building your new rig!! thumb.gif

when it comes to gaming there is no difference, but when it comes to benchies, or ram heavy programs, the samsung ram flies. it can overclock to 2133mhz on an amd system, 2400mhz on an intel core i5, and even higher on a core i7

You have a good spec

If you want my opinion, I'd change your mobo for an Asus P8Z77-V (possibly pro or deluxe if you like, but they really do not add much and aren't worth the extra IMO). Asus has very good overclocking features and the BIOS on this board is amazing (I have one)

Stick with your 3570K it is a very good processor and very easy to overclock (I changed the multiplier to 42 without adjusting any of the voltages and it runs at 4.2GHz at 1.3V and 30c with my Freezer 13)

You could get away with a 650W PSU but if it won't save you much money, 750 is fine. 8GB RAM is a good choice, there's no need for more than that

Only other thing I'd suggest is getting an SSD as that really does pay off, but make sure you have at least 240GB to run all your programs off (your 1TB HDD can store all your files and stuff), any less is useless and expensive as it will fill up very quick, and make sure the SSD speeds are decent (I have a SanDisk Extreme and it's very good)

But ultimately it's your choice, so whatever you choose I hope you enjoy your new PC smile.gif

Thanks for the words of wisdom everyone, I was thinking of going with an ssd but the only problem was the price, I'm trying to stay in the 1500 range. I may downgrade the gpu, but we all know mentally that is that last thing that we all want to downgrade smile.gif we all want that higher fps and the bragging rights haha, but I'm willing to maybe go down to a 660, and I plan on staying with the nvidia side because honestly I don't like amd, everyone amd gpu I've had just loves to give me problems..... Well I'm going to play around with my shopping cart on newegg for a little bit and then I'll post when I have an updated build list which I'm sure will still need minor tweaking

Alright IMF thinking of trading out the gene v mobo for the Asrock. Z77 performance.. What do you guys think of this board
post #18 of 24
Personally I'd go with Gigabyte, or Asus, Asrock has only just started making good boards in recent years, but they still have a ways to go to match something like Asus.

Get the Gene V, stay with 3570k. Get a Corsair H100 or H80 just in case you get into overclocking. Are you getting the 4GB 670? if you are playing at 1080p there is not point in having more than 3GB.

I was just going to use the hyper evo because it is pretty cheap and from what I've heard a very good cooler . I didn't plan on dong any extreme overclocking so I was just going to go th that but maybe I could go with the h80 or h100.... And no I'm not using the 4gb version of the 670 I'm only using to. Monitors, one for gaming and the other for twitter or whatever else I need it for.ni really don't need the extra VRAM for only 2 monitors, I'll be fine with the one I have
