PROJECT TSUNAMI

The time has come to start my build log. we'll start things off with a parts list, and go from there with build pictures!

RAM: Buffalo FireStix DDR2 800 2X1Gb (Arrived)
PSU: OCZ GameXtream 700W (Arrived)
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe Engineering Sample (Arrived)

Case: Thermaltake Tsunami Dream (Black w/ window) (Arrived)

I think that should answer your question. You are correct in that the P5B will support quad core, and it is also the better overclocker of the two. I was just lauding the 680i on its own merits when I brought up the quad core support, not comparing it to the P5B. But yes, you right, if you are not going SLI, stick with the P5B, you will get a better OC with it. If you do have plans to go SLI the 680i seems like the logical choice.

the crucials are D9GMH's as well then? so i will hit 1000-1100 most likely?

Edit: I may not need that now that i'm getting the 6600 instead of the 6400 (higher multi = lower FSB)... i'm hoping for an ES though, so wouldn't i still want decent RAM?

They do and you can expect them to do 1000+

You want a higher FSB over a higher multi
