Will 120hz Work?

I just seen someone say that their 7000 series card didnt work with thier 120hz monitor. It would only allow them to play in 60hz, is this true? I have a Asus VG236H on the way and i'm about to buy a 7970 vapor X. I know the amd does work with the 3d but does it still run in 120 hz?

If the cars has dual link Dvi then 120hz is going to work, it is the stereoscopic 3d that will not.

I've got the same monitor, and it works fine in 120z with my CF 7970s. MAKE SURE you set the monitor to 120 hz in CCC, because it defaults to 60 hz.

Aw ok thank you, I dont care about 3d =) I thought about going 680 for a min for the 3d but i think i would prefer the 3gb vram.

If my 580 blew up today I would also go the 7970 route and I've bout nvidia for 10 years lol. No reason to second guess yourself enjoy your card.

Just a heads up; ATI cards have 2 DVI ports but only 1 of them is dual link so make sure you connect the monitor to the dual link port.
