adsl microfilter swapped for increased speeds

Thread Starter
after a long an arduous night with my computer, i found out several internet hogs ruining things for me. first test was 1.8mbpsdown 0.67up with speedtest.net

i found out my tcp mss was set to zero instead of 1392 (talktalk router settings) this increased things drastically to 5.42mps/down 0.67 up

asus netwrok icontrol - disable delete do not use this, It was killing off my internet, removing it gave me 6.53mbps/down 0.72 up

and finally my micro filter. for some reason my father had used and old one instead of the new one supplied with the router

this gave me a final speed of 7.42mbps down 0.93 up

so from 1.8 to 7.42mbps its quite an increase of 412%

hope this helps some of you guys out there
