EVGA made me mad

OK,I bought a new GTX570 video card on 8/12 last month.When I bought it there was a 20.00 mail in rebate right on new eggs site with a link going to the MIR print out . I printed out the form,cut out the upc code off of the video card box. sent it in on 8/19.

On 9/12 EVGA sent me a notice declining my 20.00 rebate. They said the purchase was outside of the offer time frame. So what there saying is..... the rebate wasn't valid yet even tho it stated that there was one next to the price on new egg. The rebate only valid between 8/17/12-8/31/12.

I'm wondering why new egg and evga had the rebate up there if it wasn't going on until 8/17/12???? So I bought the card to early and paid full price so to speak. I really didn't think I'd have to look at the small print from new egg or evga,I guess in my fault mad.gif

To me that very deceiving and it really make me mad. I've been buying from new egg for ten + years. ALL my video cards are from evga. I'm going to have to rethink where I buy from on my up and coming build (S)

Unfortunately I work during those hours.I can't see myself spending my lunch hour trying to resolve it,the 20 bucks doesn't mean anything to me its the principle. It's really sad how things work in our world now a days

I take rebates that are ten to twenty bucks with a grain of salt. Did you mail in a copy of your Newegg invoice with the date it was purchased? Maybe they went by the date that the postmark on your envelope stated. If I don't want to pay the card's price without a rebate I won't buy it. If I can get the rebate then that's a plus.

I would like to follow up on the rebate of my 570sc. I called EVGA today at lunch and had to wait about 3-5 min,that was very fast for a help line. I spoke to a women and she asked me to explain the problem.

She told me that they were more then happy to honer the rebate. I told her thank you very much for her help. She said my rebate will be mailed and i should be receiving in in about two weeks.
I am very happy about how smooth it went. I guess i jumped the gun on this one. I've had so many company's screw me on rebate.

I know you got it sorted out with eVGA but the issue wasn't with them to start. It was Newegg's fault (and kind of yours for not checking the MIR carefully).

The rebate states:

Valid on orders made between: 8/17/2012 and 8/31/2012

Though I'm not blaming you entirely since Newegg does this randomly. I had an issue with a rebate I submitted for Kingston last year and after reviewing the date on the rebate and the invoice it was off by one day. Newegg must have updated the link a few hours earlier and I assumed it was for that time period.
