try depending on numbering, putting the RAM sticks in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.. i think becuase you have them in slot 1 and 2 is why they are only showing as single channel.. why CPU-z says one and 3 i am not sure

^ They're in single channel mode because the first two slots aren't the matching colours. Matching colours = dual channel. Put your RAM in 1-3 or 2-4.

I see you have a ASUS, you may want to read the manual.

Shows use A1 and B1 which should be 1st slot on the left and 3rd slot.

man i feel like a total noob. that fixed it. i never noticed till now.

would that have anything to do me having a hard time getting a stable 3.8ghz OC? everything i read said it was super easy to get the 1090t BE to 3.8 but i am having a real hard time.

ive got the same chip you do. do you have an aftermarket cpu cooler on your 1090t? overclocking on stock cpu cooler is a pain in the arse. if you want a good cpu cooler for cheap buy a hyper 212 evo and a second 120mm fan for it and a fan splitter wire so you can run 2 fans off the cpu fan header then start overclocking. i used the multiplier in mine and with a voltage bump get this. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2519882. keep in mind that is an am3+ motherboard with LLC set at normal but you should be able to hit 3.8ghz or further. the newer boards are alot easier to overclock with, but your gear should be solid...just get a good aftermarket cpu cooler and start tweaking voltages and the multiplier and you should be able to hit 3.8ghz or further without even breaking a sweat. try 1.45 on the vcore with the multiplier at x19

thanks for that input. ill have to give that a shot. i tried everything before but would always get BSOD. but now that i got my ramm running dual channel hopefully i wont have any problems getting a solid 3.8 or even a little more biggrin.gif i do have a spire gemini cooler running dual fan push/pull.
