Not when Apple is going to experience a huge return because of issues like this.

HIghly doubt that. They will just replace ones that are defective.

In addition with the amount of pure apple hate I wouldn't be surprised of some of the "defects" were done on purpose. I just don't get this stuff if the phone launched without any kind of issues I would be amazed as that is pretty much impossible. If things like this are still happening with new phones in a couple months then yes its a big problem. They cannot test every phone and expect to meet demand. people are crazy to think apple should catch this stuff. For all we know its 10k phones out of 3 million made which would be .3%. If it was 250k out of those 3 million then yes thats an issue. People just want to hate and that is the truth.

The title says plagued. We can't know its plagued without knowing even a rough percentage of the defective units as compared to the entire inventory. Its silly

Someone has zero knowledge of manufacturing standards.

Record breaking launch (sales) is no longer considered successful? Even if 10,000 iPhones had these screen issues, that is just half of one percent of just the pre-order sales numbers. It would take something pretty large to cause this launch to fail. The issues with the maps app are probably affecting the most people and still probably won't affect the launch much at all. 15% of all eligible iPhones updated to iOS 6 on the very first day it was released, and aside from some map complaints I've heard of no issues.

Uh, yeah that is literally what was expected to happen. Nobody has ever said the iphone won't sell well. Tons of people said it was going to be the ultimate phone, the best phone n the market, yada yada. The truth is that the phone has more issues than many anticipated, and they are issues with appear to be pretty widespread. The chipping anodized part is truly suspect.

From a manufacturing standpoint, this launch is a failure. That is fact. The negative press can only be defeated by ONE thing. The negative press wouldn't exist if the issues didn't. It really is that simple. This isn't android fanboys beating on apple. This is dissatisfied customers making their issues known. This is a distinct manufacturing issue and one that I GUARANTEE Apple execs are asking to be addressed.

So because one thread has a total of 65 posts between maybe 15 people that actually own it, of which a handful have an issue, and another where 400 people report scuffing it's a widespread issue/"plague"? Come on guys, let's take a step outside and think about that logically. Let's just say for arguments sake that there are 100 threads like this out there on other forums with people complaining about these issues and they're all unique (it's a random number yeah but that's fine). That totals maybe 1500 people with screen issues, and another 40,000 with issues from scuffs/marks on the phone out of how many MILLIONS sold so far? Yeah this is by no means an accurate number, but it definitely paints a picture. Don't forget in the screens case most of them sound like the connector to the mainboard isn't in all the way, and the screens are using a new method of fitting the touch and lcd together, which is in and of itself entirely new, so there's bound to be some niggles.
