Is AMD Still Worthy to be Used for Gaming @ 1080p? - Page 4

Seeing that you already have an Intel rig, I'm assuming you don't need this build immediately? Then I've got THE solution for you...

Wait for Vishera to launch in a month. Can't wait? Then get an A10-5800K next week. thumb.gif

Pair that 6100 up with a 7870, overclock the snot out of everything...

Just got back from buying that FX6100 BE wheee.gif
Now it's time to seek out a mobo for unde $100 thumb.gif

Yeah, I do agree...There's no need for another Intel rig since I have one, especially since this new rig is strictly for gaming (& some Autocad LT & CS6 when necessary) smile.gif

I prefer the 7870 since I'll be using a single GPU.

Yes, though not with the Trinity APUs - only the Vishera CPUs which are supposedly launching 2nd half of October, not next week.

Yes they will.
As of right now..a 965-up Deneb or High-Tier Thubans are the best AMD cpus for gaming..That may change change soon..maybe..hopefully..you know..2009 was a while back..and they haven't made a better cpu for gaming since then.
1055,1075,1090,1100T and of course the 960T..good luck finding one of those.

Yes they should be compatible but may require a BIOS update. There may be some weird issues with chipsets aside from 990 or 970 but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I doubt the lower end Trinitys will be as powerful as the 6100 (much less all bulldozers rolleyes.gif). In the end this is performance for price and at the price the OP got the 6100 it will be very hard to beat.

Well that's good news to hear specool.gif .....Today, I just bought a new FX6100 BE for $90 not long ago wheee.gif
Since Piledriver is new & compatible with AM3+ mobos, that will give me an extended upgrade path wink.gif
