MSI Z77 M-Power Big Bang - Testing with CL3P20 - Page 3

I have to admit. MSI has the most sleekest looking UEFI interface for their BIOS.

Feeling out this CPU a bit more tonight... brought 3rd in '05 for my 5770 Xfire. Vantage needs some more clock speed to place.. but its improving as well. ;)

3770k

100.5bclk

2144mhz RAM; 9-11-11-28 @  1.518v Real **XMP profile

1.580 - vcore

1.17 - vccio

Auto- IMC/SA

XMP 'Auto' - vDIMM

1.06v - PCH

1.65v - PLL

idle @ -67.1c

load @ 64.1c  4c/8t

hwbot 3rd place - 2x 5770 : 3D'05

Out of DICE for tonight.. will work on pushing Vantage over 25k next. wink.gif

Any news on a 3D01 Boost option in BIOS? smile.gif

Reassuring to see people running 1.90v on them.... but I hope the memory ceiling is fixed soon.

smile.gif

Ummmm.... please can you watch your notation for voltages? "2. RAM overvolts more.. +.2v from BIOS setting." is not 0.02v tongue.gif (I know you explained it but still, there is enough time to start a heart-attack by the time the rest of the explanation is read and mentally processed tongue.gif)

Have not heard anything on the 3D'01 boost yet. I know more rev's of BIOS are under way though.. lets see what they bring!

**Tnx for the catch. *fixed* thumb.gif 'too much too late at night' leads to editorial mistakes redface.gif

You mentioned a memory ceiling too... just curious what freq cap you have witnessed. Im trying in fits to get mems faster than 2316mhz stable.. these Sammies should scale, and just arent.

I tried the board with PSC and it had no problems with mems doing 1300 6-12-7 on air.
I was, however, in the same room with half a dozen of top guys from MSI's engineering team, who could fix any BIOS issue in a matter of minutes biggrin.gif

in my case the board downvolted Vmem by ~0.02V to whatever was set in the BIOS, but had absolutely no issues running 2.0V+.

Sam... were you in Eindhoven? biggrin.gif

Is CAS 6....CAS 6? tongue.gif

I remember you said you had problems at Campus Party running >1200MHz?
Yes, I was in Eindhoven.
CL6 is real.
Board will not run PSC or BBSE 1250 or 1300 "out of the box" (full Auto subs), but when you actually dial it in - it clocks mem nicely.

Hey clp!

Nice runs there!

samsung memorys hate 11-11. I have a kit here that does 2770mhz 9-12-12 at 1.9v. But even 2400 9-11-11 i would fail. Try going higher in freq, like to 2500 even, 9-12-12. Should be fine biggrin.gif

I am probably being to "nice" too these sticks smile.gif.. only pushing low volts still. I can boot and run 1mil Pi on 2500mhz .. so definitely some more left in here. Gotta get the subtimings worked out still. Im pretty dialed latency-wise at 2300mhz.. gonna take some work once I find the speed to cut latency down again.

*Trying to make some room for DICE today - gonna work on pushing CPU clocks 4c/8t .. need to get faster for before bothering with Vantage & 3D'11

My 6-9-6 Gskill PSC's are in RMA still.. hoping they arent gone 'forever'  *fingers crossed*

..and we were both right.. biggrin.gif Subtimings and 1.77v .. now up to 2450mhz stable for 32mil and some 3D. Pulled Spi 32mil time again with more CPU speed today.. Tried to get another couple runs in for 3D but was having issues getting xfire up properly .. settled on a qwk single GPU run instead.

5m 53s 32mil - http://hwbot.org/submission/2320910_

3770k @ 56x102.10

2x4 Team Dark @ 1225; 9-12-12-24 2T; 1.77v

35.1k - 3D'05 - http://hwbot.org/submission/2320913_

1x MSI 5770 stock TFII cooling @ 1.22v

3770k @ 56x100.00

2x4 Team Dark @ 1200; 9-12-12-24 2T; 1.77v

**Qwk 4c/8t run @ max clock on DI.. jeebus ivy is a burner in wprime ohno-smiley02.gif .. will need LN to get much faster than this.. temps moving on the Marksman ~3c on a 32mil run !! No chance at 1024mil on DI at decent speeds.

4.258s 32mil - http://hwbot.org/submission/2320916_

3770k @ 55x100.00 : 4c/8t

-69.3c idle / -68.5c load ; climbing to -66.1c

vcore used:

1.5 - 2c/2t up to 5.53ghz,

1.55 - 4c/4t up to 5.6ghz,

1.615 - 4c/8t up to 5.5ghz

vDIMM used:

1.5v BIOS = 1.518v real, up to 2280mhz; "Auto" timings

1.75v BIOS = 1.769 real, up to 2450mhz; 9-12-12-24-2T

Subtimings: 2,5,5,5,2,6,5,5,6 for +2300mhz

** 8lbs of DICE used ~6hrs of benching smile.gif
